“BURMA SOLDIER” provides a glimpse of a brutal dictatorship seen through the eyes of a former soldier, Myo Myint, offering a rare perspective from inside the heart and mind of a man who lays bare an understanding of a brutal regime and the political and psychological power of the junta over his country. Reaching out to the military he asks them to examine their responsibilities as soldiers and to reflect on their duty to protect the people that make up the nation they are sworn to serve. He asks for all parties to forge a route to peaceful change.
U.S. Campaign for Burma will be screening a portion of Myo Myint’s extraordinary story during the Spring 2011 National Organizing Meeting in Washington, DC on April 2-3, 2011. Visit us at here to find out more.
