Andrew Koenig, a friend to US Campaign for Burma, missing in Vancouver

Andrew Koenig, a star in the 1980’s sitcom “Growing Pains” and son of “Star Trek” actor Walter Koenig, has gone missing in Vancouver, British Columbia. Andrew was last seen at a bakery in the Stanley Park area of Vancouver on February 14, 2010, and failed to board his plane back to the U.S. on Feb 16. Andrew’s family members have expressed concern that he may have harmed himself, and his father has gone to Vancouver to look for his son.

Walter and Andrew Koenig are big supporters of U.S. Campaign for Burma. Both Walter and Andrew went on a trip to the Thai-Burma border with U.S. Campaign for Burma and have contributed tremendously to the democracy and human rights movement in Burma even since. In January of 2008, Andrew was arrested in the Rose Bowl Parade for protesting the Beijing Olympics in light of China’s continued support of the military regime in Burma.

More than a supporter, the Koenig family is a friend to U.S. Campaign for Burma, and we are extremely concerned about Andrew’s whereabouts and his well being. We hope that he is fine and will be with his family soon.

If you have seen Andrew since February 14, please contact Detective Raymond Payette of the Vancouver PD at 604-717-2534.

Our thoughts are with the Koenig family and we hope for Andrew’s speedy return home.
